A local goon allegedly assaulted two persons and stabbed one of them after a complaint was lodged with the police against him, saying, “There is already a half-murder case against me, now I will commit murder,” on Tuesday.
According to police, Pradip Kale (30), a resident of Phulenagar, was injured in the attack. Following the March 3 incident, a case has been registered at Begampura police station against the accused Pravin Kharat, also a resident of Phulenagar. Police said some women from Phulenagar had approached Begampura police station to lodge a complaint against Pradip over alleged misbehaviour, which angered the accused. At around 10.30 pm, Pradip was sitting in his uncle’s field near Ayesha mosque when Kharat arrived, questioned why his mother and other women had complained to the police, and began assaulting him. The accused then threatened to kill him and attacked him with a knife. Jagannath More, who rushed to rescue Pradip, was also beaten up by the accused.
