Thieves on a motorcycle attempted to snatch a gold mangalsutra from a woman walking on the street. However, the woman bravely held on, and the thieves managed to get only a 3-gram piece of the 10 gram chain. The incident occurred on February 28 at around 8.30 pm in the N-3 area.

Mamta Munot (43, Ulkanagari) was walking with her husband from Ulkanagari to N-3 near the tennis courts when two robbers on a black motorcycle followed them. As they approached Mamta, the person riding pillion tried to snatch the mangalsutra by suddenly pulling it from her neck. Mamta held on firmly, and as a result, the thieves got only 3 grams out of the 10 gram chain. Frightened of being caught, they immediately fled the scene. A case has been registered at the Pundliknagar police station in connection with the incident.
