In an unusual burglary, thieves broke into a sweet shop at Gopal Tea Chowk and decamped with sweets worth nearly Rs 70,000, along with cash and the CCTV DVR. A case was registered at Vedantnagar police station on April 12.

The shop, Bikaner Bhujiawala, owned by Shubham Agrawal (32), was targeted around 2:34 am on April 12. The accused broke the lock, forced open the shutter, and entered the premises located on the main road. They stole Rs 10,000 in cash, the CCTV DVR, seven trays (5 kg each) of kaju mix sweets worth about Rs 60,000, and 10 kg of mawa mix sweets worth Rs 10,000. The theft came to light on Sunday morning.
