Thousands of workers participate in nationwide strike

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Thousand members of the Centre of Indian Trade union (CITU) and workers from various companies participated in the nationwide strike called for various demands in the city on Thursday.

The agitators said that workers were denied the right to form a union under the new four labour laws and codes. The fundamental rights of workers will be violated because of the new norms. This nationwide strike was called by the CITU against this.

A protest was held at Kranti Chowk today. Workers from Waluj, Chikalthana, and Shendra MIDC participated in it. Also, health workers, ASHA workers, group promoters and Anganwadi workers registered their participation in the strike.

The protesters demanded that all workers be given a monthly pension of Rs 10,000, unorganised and contractual workers should be given a minimum wage of Rs 30,000 foThousands of workers participate in nationwide striker 8 hours of work, public sector enterprises should not be privatised, and Anganwadi workers should be given worker status and kept in service and the Public Security Bill should be withdrawn.

Hundreds of workers, including labour leaders Laxman Sakrudkar, Damodar Mankape, Mangal Thombre, Ajay Bhawalkar, Gorakhnath Rathod, Baswaraj Patne and Shrikant Phopse, participated in this.

Bhartiya Kamgar Sena (BKS) also participated in the nationwide strike. Under the leadership of the organisation's leader, Prabhakar Mate, the workers staged a strong protest at Kranti Chowk.
