Three young men were seriously injured after falling from a moving train early Saturday morning around 3.30 am near the Dheku river in the Lasur Station.

Their lives were saved due to the alertness and quick response of a local farmer. According to information, Akash Mhaske, Monty Warekar, and Sumit Salve, residents of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, were travelling to Mumbai by the Nanded–Mumbai Rajyarani Express to attend a friend’s birthday. While sitting near the train door in the early hours, one of them lost balance. In the attempt to save each other, all three fell from the moving train onto the railway track area and were seriously injured. Nearby farmer Vitthal Shelke, whose farmhouse is close to the site, heard their cries for help. He immediately rushed to the spot and informed village police patil Karbhari Nighote. Following instructions, Shelke quickly transported the injured youths on his motorcycle to a private hospital at Lasur Station, covering about 7 km.
