Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Phulambri and Ajintha police on Friday seized three swords two from Abrar Shaikh (20) of Naigaon, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar tehsil, and one from Pravin Jadhav of Dhotra, Sillod taluka and detained both youths.

Phulambri police recovered the two handle-less swords from Shaikh at around 1.30 pm, the blades measured 61 cm and 58 cm and were valued at Rs 1,200. A case was registered under the Arms Act, and the source of the weapons is being probed. Later, at around 8 pm, Ajintha police arrested Jadhav from his residence for illegally possessing a sword and creating fear. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
