Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

With no party securing a clear majority in the Zilla Parishad elections and uncertainty over the formation of an alliance, the administration and police have sensed a possible tussle for power. As a precautionary measure, heavy police deployment will be in place at the District Collectorate premises on March 18.

Considering the chaos that occurred during the election of chairperson and deputy chairperson in the Panchayat Samiti earlier, a strong police presence has been deemed necessary. On Tuesday evening, deputy commissioner Pankaj Atulkar, assistant commissioners Subhash Bhujang and Sagar Deshmukh, and police inspector Nirmala Pardeshi reviewed the security arrangements.

Presiding officer Sambhaji Adkune also briefed the police about the procedures scheduled for March 18.
