Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: “The economy is an important part of the State. If the State is to run properly and the welfare of the people is to be ensured, the economy must be strong. To strengthen the economy, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj paid attention to the Inam system and the land revenue system,” said Dr Kedarnath Phalke, a renowned scholar

He was speaking at the function organised on ‘Shiv Chhatrapati's Economy’ by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University at the main auditorium on Thursday as part of Shiv Jayanti celebration. Vice-Chancellor Dr Vijay Fulari presided over the function.

Pro-VC Dr Walmik Sarwade, Management Council Member Kashinath Deodhar, Nitin Jadhav, Registrar Dr Prashant Amrutkar and Director of Student Development Board Dr Kailash Ambhure were present. He said that this mission of an economy for the benefit of the ryot cannot be realised based on weapons.

Dr Purushottam Deshmukh (director, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Adhyasan) conducted the proceedings of the programme.
