Aurangabad, Dec 6:

After the unlock, tourists destinations were opened for the general public. However, as the tourist spots in and around Aurangabad city are still closed, many tourists are leaving the city disheartened.

With the opening of religious places and other tourist destinations in Maharashtra, a large number of tourists are coming out for sightseeing. Despite Covid-19, the tourists continue their journey by taking precautions. Tourists visiting Ghrishneshwar temple at Ellora also visit the Ellora Caves. Tourists also visit the Bibi-Ka-Maqbara, Chhatrapati Shivaji Museum, Aurangabad Caves, Panchakki and other destinations in the city. But still, the local administration is not ready to open the tourist places. For the past few days, tourists have been coming to the city and are getting disheartened by seeing the heritage sites closed. However, small traders and vendors have started setting up their shops near the monuments. On Saturdays and Sundays, tourists were seen complaining about the closed monuments.

Business completely down

In the last few months, the business has come to a complete standstill. The guides and other small businesses have been severely hampered. Now guides inform the tourists about the Maqbara from outside. Some listen, some refuse to listen. After hearing the information, some walk away, while others give Rs 20-30. The guide complained that they are earning Rs 50-60 per day with great difficulty.
