Aurangabad, Jan 2:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation''s (AMC) Town Planning section has identified 39 buildings, where the parking areas approved while granting building permissions, are missing. The dedicated spaces had been converted illegally for personal benefits. Hence, the TP officials handed over the list to the anti-encroachment squad for further action. The officials concerned would be taking action after the administrator resumes his duty, it is learnt.

The TP section sanctions at least 1,000 building permissions every year. After obtaining the permissions, the majority of applicants never contacts the AMC again for obtaining the completion certificate. The certificate is issued after verifying whether the construction is made as per the sanctioned plan submitted to the office while obtaining building permission. As per norms, it is necessary to spare parking area as per the utility of the building. The plot-owners submit the plan mentioning an independent area reserved for parking, but after obtaining permissions, they utilise the same parking areas for commercial purpose or personal benefits. It had come to notice that some of them had converted the parking area into flat and sold it out without any hassles.

It is learnt that the TP officials shortlisted 39 properties in the first phase. The AMC administrator A K Pandey would resume his duty on January 4. Accordingly the anti-encroachment squad would start action after his official consent to the action.
