Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

Hundreds of handcarts are being placed on streets without permission at night, especially between Gandhi Statue and City Chowk, turning the roads into makeshift markets. On Thursday evening, local residents and traders held a meeting to express strong objections, demanding that the unofficial ‘Meena Bazaar’ be removed from the road. During the meeting, participants highlighted how handcarts are being forcibly set up on Sarafa Road, blocking the entire street and causing serious inconvenience. They also noted that some traders are renting out space to the handcart operators and called for strict action against them.

When contacted mayor Sameer Rajurkar on mobile, he assured the traders that the issue would be resolved within two days.

The meeting was attended by corporators Sachin Khaire and Rishi Jaiswal, along with Lakshminarayan Rathi, Sunil Agrawal, Dheeraj Siddh, Darpan Mehra, Sangram Atkare, Raju Agrawal, Nikhil Patel, Aniket Tandale, Chetan Sharma, and around 50 local traders.
