Gudhi Padwa on Thursday brought the city alive with tradition and energy. Young riders took to the streets on bikes adorned with Gudis, dressed in traditional attire, turning heads citywide.

The main procession, starting from Rajabazar Sansthan Ganpati temple, featured dhol-tasha troupes, child Warkaris, and live tableaux. Kranti Chowk thundered with dhol beats, drawing massive crowds. Participants proudly posed for photographs beside the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, echoing a deep sense of cultural pride and heritage.

Kolhapur-Style Shobha Yatra, Nauvari Sarees Steal the Show

For the first time in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, a Kolhapur-style Shobha Yatra was organised, adding a distinct flavour to the celebrations. The nauvari saree made a strong comeback enthusiastically adopted by young girls who paired it with traditional jewellery and accessories, reflecting pride in Marathi culture.

Peshwai splendour on two wheels

The bike rally stood out with participants dressed in Peshwai-style and Krishna Peshwai-style attire, riding in formation alongside dhol pathaks. The procession lit up Kranti Chowk, drawing admiration from onlookers lining the streets.
