Aurangabad, Oct 28:

A Hyderabad – based travel company cheated a local trader of Rs 29,25,500 luring him with the promise to take 50 devotees to Umrah. A case has been registered against the directors father-son duo at the Vedantnagar police station identified as Syed Abdul Hakim Syed Rashid Haidar and Syed Fazal (Hyderabad).

Complainant, Syed Azhar Syed Bashir run a travel company named Ayesha Umra Tours at Railway Station area. In May 2019, he had gone to Saudi Arabia where he met Shaikh Mohsin. He told Azhar that he works at a company at Hyderabad named A to Z Company, which takes devotees to Umrah. The company makes all the arrangement of lodging and boarding of the devotees, he told Azhar.

Accordingly, Azhar sent 50 devotees to Umrah through Hakim’s company. Hakim gained confidence of Azhar by making the first trip successful. Azhar in October, 2019, again contacted Hakim to send another 50 devotees. He deposited the amount of the devotees for plane ticket, visa and lodging and boarding for fifteen days. However, the accused did not send the tickets and asked Azhar to deposit another Rs 3 lakh. Accordingly, he paid Rs 3 lakh, still he did not get the tickets from Hakim. Azhar had to send the devotees on his own expenses. Hakim told him that he will sent another 50 devotees to Umrah in November. Hence, Azhar sent a list of another 50 devotees. However, Hakim did not send the tickets again. Now, Hakim has switched off his phone, the complainant mentioned in his complaint.
