A speeding truck overturned near a spinning mill on the Kannad-Sillod road in Borgaon after an unidentified vehicle forced it off balance. The driver was crushed under the vehicle and died on the spot on Sunday around 2 pm.
The deceased driver, identified as Shekhar Sonawane (32, Amdabad, Kannad Tehsil). Shekhar was returning home after transporting cotton to a ginning mill in Sillod. As he approached Borgaon, a vehicle suddenly swerved, causing his truck to overturn. He was trapped beneath the wreckage and suffered fatal injuries. Upon receiving the alert, police personnel Vishnu Kolhe and Vinod Sarode rushed to the scene and transported Shekhar to Sillod Sub-District Hospital, where Dr Ram Mohite examined him and declared him dead. After the post-mortem, authorities handed over the body to his family. A case has been registered at Sillod Rural Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
