The crime branch arrested two men for allegedly bringing MD (mephedrone) drugs for sale after laying a midnight trap near the closed municipal gym at Kailasnagar on Saturday. Drugs and other material worth over Rs 2.05 lakhs were seized, said senior police inspector Gajanan Kalyankar.

The accused have been identified as Rashid Deep (25) and Fayyaz Shaikh (30), both residents of Baijipura. Police recovered six small packets of MD drugs from Rashid, later confirmed as a narcotic substance during forensic examination. During questioning, the duo told police that the drugs were purchased from Kashif, a resident of Kannad, who is currently absconding. A case has been registered at Jinsi police station, and further investigation is being conducted by police sub-inspector Ganesh Mane.
