Two youths allegedly lured a man for a discussion over an old dispute and later attacked him with swords near Udilif Hotel on Jalna Road around 2 am on April 11.
According to the complaint filed by Junaid Shaikh (26, Tipu Sultan Chowk, Chikalthana, Hinaanagar), he had an ongoing dispute with accused Shahrukh Sattar Syed. Shahrukh and Arbaaz Khan Mazhar Khan called him to the spot under the pretext of settling the issue. Upon his arrival, the duo reportedly took out swords from a four-wheeler and threatened him, saying, “Aaj tujhe khatam karenge,” before launching a life-threatening assault. Junaid sustained serious injuries to both hands and a leg. The accused have been identified as Arbaaz Khan (19, Galli No. 15, Kiradpura) and Shahrukh Syed (25, near Dargahwali Masjid, Naregaon). Both have been arrested. Police said Arbaaz is a history-sheeter with four to five serious offences, including murder, registered against him since he was a minor. The complainant Junaid is also a history-sheeter, with seven to eight serious cases, including assault and robbery, registered against him. Further investigation is being carried out by police sub inspector Sanju Kale.
