Close on the heels of the New Usmanpura burglary, two more houses were broken into in Satara and Kanchanwadi, with police registering a case on February 14.

Businessman Tiwari (64), a resident of Shilpnagar near Rana Tower, had gone to Pune on February 13 after locking his house. Around 12.35 am, burglars broke in and stole Rs 5,500 in cash. Finding no valuables, they fled with his moped (MH-20-HR-0506) parked outside. Tiwari later returned and lodged a complaint. In another incident, Akshay Babre (29) of Sainik Vihar, Kanchanwadi, was out of town for hospital work when burglars broke open the safety and main doors and stole a 10-gram gold chain, an 8-gram mangalsutra, and 10 grams of silver seals from a cupboard. Police sub-inspector Govind Ekilwale and constable Mahesh Gole are investigating.
