Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Two friends were stabbed by three youths for intervening in their dispute near Janaki Hotel in Shivajinagar around 12.30 am on February 25. Jawaharnagar police have registered a case against Ram Rathod, Suraj Jadhav, and an unidentified accused.

The injured have been identified as Devesh Pawar (25, Gajanan Nagar) and Prashant Kathar. According to the complaint, Pawar and his friend Sachin Nirpagare had earlier intervened in a fight involving the accused near Kalika Mata temple.

Later, while standing near a paan stall at Janaki Hotel, the accused arrived on a two-wheeler and questioned them for interfering. They stabbed Pawar in the stomach and assaulted him. When Kathar tried to intervene, he was stabbed in the chest. Both injured were admitted to a private hospital. Further investigation is underway by police sub-inspector Maroti Khillare.
