Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

A horrific accident occurred near Chinchkheda in Sillod tehsil on the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar–Jalgaon highway on Monday (23rd) at around 11:30 pm, when a motorcycle rammed into a truck after it suddenly applied brakes. Both riders died on the spot in the crash. The deceased have been identified as Kailas Sakharam Magar (37) and Sanjay Barikrao Khatal (38), both residents of Nillod. They were employed at a hotel in Bhavan.

According to the information received, Kailas Sakharam Magar had been working as a manager at Guru Hotel in Bhavan for the past ten years. Along with him, Sanjay Barikrao Khatal was employed as a waiter. On Monday night, as usual, both of them were returning to Nillod on their motorcycle (MH-20-FH-1413) after closing the hotel.

Near Hotel Preeti at Chinchkheda, a truck (MH-16-CC-4945) travelling towards Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar suddenly applied brakes. As a result, the motorcycle coming from behind crashed into the truck at high speed. Both sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot due to excessive bleeding.

Police from Vadod Bazaar rushed to the scene and conducted a panchnama. Under the guidance of assistant police inspector Sunil Ingale, police sub-inspector Sachin Sirsagar and Dhanraj Khakre are carrying out further investigation.

Tragedy before housewarming ceremony

Manager Kailas Magar had recently constructed a new house, and a housewarming ceremony was scheduled for next month. However, his untimely death in the accident has left his dream of living in the new home unfulfilled. He is survived by his wife, son, daughter and father. Sanjay Khatal is survived by his wife, two children and mother. The last rites of both the deceased were performed at Nillod at 2 pm.
