Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

A horrific car accident caused by a tyre burst on the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar–Solapur national highway, around 2 km from Pachod, claimed the life of a local hardware merchant on Monday night. The deceased has been identified as Mahesh alias Pappu Shriram Huljatte (45), resident of Pachod.

Huljatte, a known hardware trader in Pachod, was driving from Maliwada Bhokarwadi to Pachod at approximately 2.45 am when the car’s tyre suddenly burst. He lost control of the vehicle, which crashed violently into a roadside iron guide pole. The collision was so severe that the car was completely mangled, leaving Huljatte critically injured.

On receiving the news, relatives rushed to the site and took him to the Pachod Rural Hospital for initial treatment. He was then transferred to a private hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for further care. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, he passed away around 6 am on Tuesday morning.

Funeral amid grief

Pachod police visited the accident site and completed the accident report. A case has been registered at Pachod Police Station. Mahesh Huljatte’s last rites were performed at the Pachod crematorium on Tuesday evening at 6 pm amid deep mourning. He is survived by his mother, wife, one son, one daughter, one brother, and two sisters.
