The Maha Vikas Aghadi held a second-day meeting at Ambadas Danve’s office to finalise seat-sharing for the district council elections. Former MLC Danve stated talks with Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi and UBT Sena were successful, and discussions with Congress (INC) are in the final stage. “We will announce our alliance on Wednesday,” he said.

Voting for 63 Zilla Parishad seats and 126 Panchayat Samiti seats will be held on 5 February. Nomination papers are being accepted from 16 January until 21 January, 3 pm. Late-night and morning meetings involved UBT Sena leaders Ambadas Danve and Subhash Patil; INC leaders Kiran Patil-Donagaonkar, Jagannath Kale, Vishwas Autade; and Vanchit leaders Amit Bhuyigal and Yogesh Ban. Seat-sharing with Vanchit was finalised, while discussions with INC continued, finalising all seats except those in Kannad tehsil. Decisions for Kannad seats are expected by Tuesday night.

Seat distribution: UBT Sena 35, INC 21, Vanchit 7. Parties prioritised candidate winnability, ensuring strong candidates retain their constituencies, successfully negotiating across eight tehsils.

The alliance will be formally approved on Tuesday, with the final seat-sharing announced at a joint press conference on Wednesday night.
