Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

A large number of banners and posters put up across the Waluj MIDC industrial area amid ongoing festivals have begun obstructing traffic and defacing the surroundings. In response, the police have issued immediate action directives to the concerned Gram Panchayats.

At present, banners, posters and flags can be seen installed in large numbers at junctions, on main roads and in public places across the Waluj industrial area. In most cases, these have been put up without any official permission. Against this backdrop, MIDC Waluj police have written to local Gram Panchayats, ordering the prompt removal of all unauthorised banners and posters. Instructions have been issued particularly to Gram Panchayats in Pandharpur, Ranjangaon, Jogeshwari, Wadgaon, Bajajnagar and other villages.

According to the police, such unauthorised displays may lead to religious or social tensions and could pose a law and order issue. Hence, Gram Panchayats have been clearly instructed to ensure immediate removal of all such banners, posters and flags through their staff.

The police have also warned that any delay or negligence in implementing these orders, or any untoward incident arising thereafter, will hold the concerned Gram Panchayats accountable. Meanwhile, the action has drawn attention across the area, and a large-scale banner removal drive is likely to be carried out in the coming days.
