Aurangabad, Feb 13:

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths caught red-handed a junior assistant of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) while accepting a bribe of Rs 1000 from a contractor near Bhavani Petrol Pump on Jalna road on Saturday.

The accused has been identified as Prasad Durgadas Kulkarni (32, TV Centre, Hudco N-11).

According to details, the complainant is a contractor submitted the annual bills of Rs 2 lakh for supplied goods to the Printing Department.

Junior Assistant of the Department Prasad Kulkarni forwarded the bills to the Accounts Department. Kulkarni sought Rs 1000 from the contractor as a gift for clearing the bill. The contractor lodged a complaint ACB.

ACB police inspector Reshma Saudagar and employees-Ravindra Ambekar, Balasaheb Rathod, Kaptil Gadekar, Changdev Bagul verified the complaint.

The junior assistant asked the contractor to bring bribe near Bhavani Petrol Pump and pay the former.

The ACB caught the accused while accepting Rs 1000 from the complainant.
