Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

Several areas in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar tehsil, including Karmad, Pimpri Raja, Dudhud, Ladsawangi, Golatgaon, Kumbhephal, Warud Kaji, Shekta and Chitepimpalgaon, witnessed unseasonal rain accompanied by strong winds and thunder on Monday evening. Heavy showers began after 7 pm, along with intense lightning, presenting a severe spell of weather.

Normal life in the eastern parts of the tehsil was disrupted. While the rain brought temporary relief from the heat, strong winds caused panic among farmers and residents. Late-sown rabi crops such as wheat and gram, along with vegetables and orchards, suffered damage. Grapes, mango and pomegranate crops in the setting stage were severely affected.

Just ten days ago, the eastern region had faced significant crop losses due to similar conditions. With this fresh spell of unseasonal rain, farmers are once again distressed. There is a growing demand for the revenue and agriculture departments to conduct damage assessments and announce financial assistance.
