Aurangabad, Feb 20:

“Urdu is the most widely spoken language in the world. It a language of love that connects people,” said Dr A G Khan, the former director of Board of College and University Development,Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University.

He was speaking in a one-day national seminar on 'Teaching Urdu at University Level - Problems and Possibilities' organised jointly by Marathwada College of Education (MCE) and National Council for the Promotion of Urdu Language recently.

Dr Syed Mohd Anwar from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), in his keynote address, highlighted the difficulties encountered in teaching Urdu at a high level and the use of available resources.

Principal of Maulana Azad College Dr Mazhar Farooqi said that our college promotes not only Urdu but all languages.

Dr Abdullah Imtiaz from University of Mumbai, Dr Mohd Abdul Sami (Hyderabad), MCE principal Dr Naveed-Us-Saher and Dr Shafi Ayyub from JNU also spoke.

Earlier, seminar coordinator Dr Sohail Zakiuddin explained the objectives of the event. Teachers, researchers and students attended the event. Rahim proposed a vote of thanks.
