Aurangabad, March 7:

A delegation led by the US Consul General of the US Consulate (Mumbai) David J Ranz visited Maulana Azad College on Saturday.

He was accompanied by Yoon Nam, cultural affairs officer and Tasneem Kalsekar (senior cultural affairs advisor, programs and exchanges).

Earlier, college Principal Dr Mazahar Ahmed Farooqui, Dr Arif Pathan, Dr Aparna Saraf, Rajan Shinde, Dr Kalimoddin Shaikh and Mubesira Ansari received and interacted with the delegates on collaborative opportunities in Higher Education in relation with National Education Policy 2020.

Principal Dr Mazahar opined that having completed higher education from America, most of the students and researches are accommodated in cosmopolitan cities of India, whereas their advanced knowledge needs to be percolated down to the masses in rural India.

Dr Aparna Saraf presented the highlights and achievements of Maulana Azad College since its inception.

During an interaction with students, David J Ranz discussed educational opportunities, skill-oriented courses offered, how educational tie-up between these to countries will help bridge the gap between educational standards of both countries and strengthen bilateral ties etc. Rajan Shinde proposed a vote of thanks.
