In the era of artificial intelligence (AI), new technologies have made human life more comfortable. Several live demonstrations showing how new technologies are benefiting society were presented on Friday at MIT College during the annual convention of the Indian Water Works Association (IWWA). The demonstrations proved to be a visual treat for the engineers participating in the convention promoting sustainability in water management, innovation, and the effective use of modern technology.
On the second day of the national convention, various technical sessions, expert guidance, and presentations on new water technologies were conducted. The day began with a plenary session, during which important topics such as water supply systems, pipeline design, pumping systems, corrosion affecting pipelines, and preventive measures were discussed. Engineers Ramesh Bambale, Dr. Raghuveer Rao, Engineer Buddhadev Duari, and Engineer Parimal Nikam shared their experiences and research with the audience.
During the technical sessions, experts provided guidance on challenges in water supply and wastewater management, economically viable infrastructure projects, nano-cavitation technology, water management for smart cities, and efficient water supply systems.
In the evening, a live demonstration of ferro-cement water storage tank construction was organised, receiving an enthusiastic response from students and professionals alike.
In a plenary session focused on next-generation water technologies, in-depth discussions were held on bio-electric toilets, decentralised wastewater treatment, the net-zero water concept, digital twin technology, and the impacts of soft water.
Renowned experts, administrative officers, engineers, researchers, academicians, and students participated in large numbers in the convention. The convention promotes sustainability in water management, innovation, and the effective use of modern technology.
The final day of the convention will be held on Saturday, January 24, with the valedictory session scheduled for the afternoon.
