Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The Wakf Amendment Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha. Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) has termed the bill as anti-Muslim and unconstitutional and announced that the party will take to the streets across the state to protest against it. If necessary, the party will also approach the courts, said VBA’s state spokesperson, Tayyab Zafar, while addressing a press conference on Thursday.

He said that there is anger within the Muslim community against this bill. Through this bill, the government has taken control of 9.4 lakh acres of land. This bill will offer no benefit to the Muslim community. While the bill was being discussed in the Lok Sabha, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi remained silent, and Priyanka Gandhi left. The BJP has imposed this bill on the Muslim community, he added.

VBA will conduct awareness campaigns within the Muslim community regarding this issue. After the instructions from party leader Adv. Balasaheb Ambedkar, the party will announce when to take to the streets, it is learnt. The press conference was attended by office-bearers including former leader of opposition in municipal corporation Afsar Khan, Javed Qureshi, Pankaj Bansode, Roopchand Gadekar, and others.
