A villager allegedly tried to set an elderly man on fire after stealing his mobile phone and cash from a shop where he was sleeping at night. The incident occurred at 3 am on January 26 in Mukundnagar.

According to reports, on the night of January 26, Sandeep Ingle abused the complainant, 75-year-old Subhash Nikalje, leading to an argument. Shashikant Shingne intervened and chased Ingle away. Later, Nikalje and Shingne slept inside Shingne’s shop. Around 3 a.m., Ingle forced open the shutters, stole Nikalje’s mobile and Rs 13,000 cash from the counter, and attempted to set Nikalje’s bedding on fire. Nikalje noticed the fire in time and was fortunately saved. A case has been registered against Sandeep Ingle at the Mukundwadi police station.
