Aurangabad, April 24 :

Villagers from Adgaon Khurd in the district kept COVID 19 at bay by following all measures, including wearing masks, maintaining social distance and washing hands frequently.

Deputy chief executive officer Dr Sunil Bhokre said that villagers from Adgaon Khurde which has a 1090 population and is 18 km away from Phulambri tehsil, succeeded in keeping the pandemic virus at bay.

Officers from Gram Panchayat, people’s representatives, health employees, Asha and Anganwadi workers, carried out health checks and vaccinated those above 45 years of age and monitored cleanliness.

Villagers followed all measures as members of the Vigilance Committee created awareness since the beginning.

Dr Bhokre said that not a single patient was found in the village during the last one year as all followed the measures.

Bloc education officer Vilas Gangawne, extension officer, tehsil health officer, sarpanch Ramdas Janewala, former sarpanch Bhagubai Tupe, Kakaji Tupe, deputy sarpanch Rukhminibai Tupe, gram sevek J K Talekar and other workers dedicated themselves to creating awareness among the villagers. This resulted in keeping the infection at bay. Dr Bhokre said that all the villagers set an example to make a village COVID free.
