Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday inaugurated the Awakening the Constitution Campaign, emphasizing that India’s independence came through immense sacrifices and that every citizen must uphold the Constitution’s values. He urged people to exercise their rights responsibly and prioritize national interest.

Addressing a large gathering at Saraswati Bhuwan Educational Institution, Dhankhar highlighted how dialogue, coordination, and consensus shaped India’s Constitution, ensuring a strong democratic foundation Vice President Dhankhar inaugurated the campaign, emphasizing that India’s independence came through immense sacrifices, and the Constitution was built on dialogue, coordination, and consensus. He highlighted that a republic thrives on peace and harmony, making it essential for every citizen to respect the Constitution and fulfil their duties. Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan, social justice minister Sanjay Shirsat, OBC Welfare Minister Atul Save, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Bhagwat Karad, and Saraswati Bhuwan educational institution president Dinesh Vakil attended the event, along with a large gathering of students and citizens.

Constitution strengthens democracy

Dhankhar urged people to vote responsibly, as informed electoral choices determine the nation’s leadership. To mark the event, Vice President Dhankhar, his wife Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar, and Governor Radhakrishnan participated in a tree plantation drive under the initiative “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” (A Tree in the Name of Mother) on the institution’s premises. The event began with an introduction by Dinesh Vakil, setting the tone for a dialogue on constitutional values and civic responsibility.
