Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Vice president of the country Jagdeep Dhankhar will be the chief guest for the 65th convocation ceremony of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) to be held at the main auditorium on the campus on February 22.
Talking to newsmen on Thursday, vice-chancellor Dr Vijay Fulari said that the Governor and chancellor of the universities C P Radhakrishnan would preside over the function.
Earlier, the ceremony was to commence at 11 am on the given day. However, the tour schedule for Dhankhar was changed.
He said that the country’s Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar would be the chief guest for the ceremony to be held at the university auditorium at 3.20 pm on Saturday.
Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil and MP and former union Minister of the State Dr Bhagwat Karad would be the guest of honour. Pro-VC Dr Walmik Sarwade, Registrar Dr Prashant Amritkar, Director of Board of Examination and Evaluation Dr Bharati Gawli, Deans of four faculties-Dr Mahendra Shirsath, Dr Sanjay Salunke, Dr Vaishali Khaparde and Dr Veena Humbe and all members of the Management Council will remain present.
Organising committee president Dr Kailash Pathrikar and other officers were present at the briefing.
A total of 30 committees were formed for the ceremony and about 150 members are working hard for the success of the programme. This is the second convocation ceremony since when VC Dr Fulari took charge.
