Saturday turned tragic for the Waluj Mahanagar area as four separate incidents of suicide left the locality in shock. An underage girl student, a Class 9 boy, a young man and an adult ended their lives at different locations. The deaths of four individuals in a single day leave Waluj Mahanagar in shock.
All the incidents have been registered at MIDC Waluj Police Station and a detailed investigation is underway. However, beyond the legal inquiry, these incidents have raised deeply disturbing questions within society. The suicides of minors, in particular, have increased fear and concern among parents. What burdens weighed on these young minds? What pain did they silently endure? These questions continue to trouble many.
According to the police, Mangal Sanjay Jadhav (17 years, 11 months), a minor from Ambelohal in Gangapur, set herself ablaze on February 23 after pouring a flammable substance on herself. She had been admitted to GMCH with severe burn injuries and was undergoing treatment for the past few days. However, she passed away at around 3.30 pm on Saturday during treatment.
In another incident, Samadhan Ramesh Gaikwad (32) from Ranjangaon (She. Pu.) allegedly consumed poison at Ghanegaon at around 2.30 pm on February 26. He was admitted to GMCH for treatment but succumbed at around 12 noon on Saturday.
In the third incident, Ajay Kishor Panchal (22) from Hanuman Nagar, Ranjangaon (She. Pu.), died by suicide on Saturday by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence using a scarf. Family members rushed him to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead at 5.25 pm.
