Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

Wet and dry waste from various parts of the area is collected through small ‘Ghanta gadi’s’ and then transferred into large compactor trucks for transportation to the waste collection centre. However, for the past few days, the compactor trucks have not been arriving on time, causing major delays in waste collection.

Due to this, long queues of ‘Ghanta gadi’ are being seen in the Satara area, under the Sangram Nagar flyover, and along the main road near Janaki Hotel in Shivajinagar. As a result, foul smell has started spreading in these areas.

Since the compactor trucks do not arrive even by afternoon, the waste collected from colonies remains in the ‘Ghanta gadi’. These carts cannot be sent again for collection, leading to disruption of the waste collection schedule.
