Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
The scorching summer heat has begun to take its toll, and water scarcity is becoming a serious concern in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district. Currently, 36 villages and three hamlets in the district are receiving water supply through a total of 39 tankers.
According to estimates, the district may require around 300 tankers to supply water to approximately 300 villages over the next three months. Nearly 600 remedial measures will need to be implemented across these villages, with an estimated expenditure of Rs 44 crore. The administration has approved a drought relief plan that includes measures such as well acquisition, water supply through tankers, and other necessary interventions. Although reservoirs in the district still hold a considerable amount of water, signs of scarcity have started emerging. As per the Drought Action Plan, water tankers are scheduled to be deployed in Cthe hhatrapati Sambhajinagar district in April. As March comes to an end, water tankers are already supplying water to several villages and hamlets, including Savkhed Khandala, Daskuli, Tidi, Aghur, Loni Bu., Malisagaj, Makarmatpur, and Kanaksagaj in Vaijapur tehsil. Similarly, in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar taluka, tankers are providing water to Vahegaon (Ramainagar and Gadekar Vasti), Vadachi Wadi (Nagonyachi Wadi and Demni), as well as Karhol, Hirapurwadi and Navin Hirapur.
