Aurangabad, June 6:

The water demand in the city is increasing day by day due to the increasing population. The rainfall is uncertain and hence everyone should use the water judiciously. Everyone should take care that maximum water should be percolated in the ground to meet the future water need, adviced the joint director of the Ground Water Survey and Development Machinery Department, Dr P L Salve.

He was speaking during the online webinar on the subject ‘Ground Water and We’. The government has implemented block water, percolate water scheme. It is important that the water of the catchment area should be percolated in the same area, he said. If the rainwater is drained, people have to face severe water scarcity. Hence, they should be aware of the importance of water management. The ground resources should be refilled and managed, which is the need of the hour, he said.

Deputy director B L Meshram, chief mining engineer Hanumant Dhokle, senior geologist P M Shelar, Manoj Suradkar and others participated in the webinar.
