A water pipeline supplying the Jubilee Park reservoir burst at 2 am on Thursday, cutting off water supply to the old city areas. With Eid just around the corner, residents were left without water for a gruelling 32 hours before the line was finally repaired on Friday evening.

With Eid on Saturday, the municipal corporation immediately prioritised restoring supply to colonies that had gone without water during the outage. After repairs were completed on Friday, the 750mm diameter pipeline underwent pressure testing to ensure there were no leaks before water was restored. Deputy-Engineers Kiran Dhande, Milind Bhamre, Sachin Veldode, and Hemant Hiwrale, along with contractor Sanjay Dhobale, were present during the restoration work.
