Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

A minor dispute over water splashing during construction work escalated into a clash between two groups in Hanumannagar, Kamalapur (Gangapur tehsil), leaving four injured. Cross cases have been registered at MIDC Waluj Police Station.

The incident occurred between 1.45 pm and 2 pm on Tuesday. As per the first complaint, Sominath Ratan Lohakare (36) was allegedly assaulted with kicks, punches and wooden sticks by Sohel Shaikh alias Adhira, Moshin Shaikh and others when he tried to mediate a dispute. In a counter-complaint, Abdul Majid Shaikh (38) alleged that Dnyaneshwar Lohakare, Sominath Lohakare and three to four associates attacked Shahid and Rehan with a knife and physically assaulted them, allegedly attempting to kill them. Police Commissioner Pravin Pawar, DCP Pankaj Atulkar, ACP Ashok Rajput and PI Rameshwar Gade visited the spot and brought the situation under control, appealing for peace.
