Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Many are criticizing and spreading misconceptions about the government resolution (GR) regarding the implementation of the Hyderabad Gazetteer. But I firmly state that we have got exactly what we wanted. Not a single Maratha in the state will be deprived of reservation, and that is why we are happy, said Maratha reservation movement leader Manoj Jarange while addressing the press on Sunday.

Jarange, who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city, interacted with the media on Sunday. He said, “The decision to implement the Hyderabad State Gazetteer is not a small matter. That is why we are happy, and currently I will not be undertaking any tour.”

When asked about some putting up banners praising chief minister Devendra Fadnavis or calling him “Devabhau” after the resolution of the Maratha reservation issue, Jarange responded, “Immediately start issuing certificates to the Maratha community. We will thank you and appreciate you for that. The Shinde committee has been given an extension so continue searching for records in all departments.” When Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar’s criticism of the GR was brought up, Jarange said, “The GR is good. Let people say what they want. If someone wants to spread misconceptions, let them. Just ignore them.”

No connection with OBC morcha agitation

Jarange asserted strongly, “We have nothing to do with the OBC morcha protests. Our fight is with the government. We have got what we wanted.” He also advised OBC leaders, saying, “Instead of fighting against the Marathas, fight for your community and work for its welfare.”

To visit Antarwali Sarati, Narayangad

On Monday, Jarange said he would be discharged from the hospital and visit Antarwali Sarati. He also plans to go to Narayangad and the Shivneri Fort for darshan. He clarified that a large-scale Dussehra rally at Narayangad will not be possible this year, but it will be organized in a bigger way later.
