Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

Saying, “We wanted a son, but you gave birth to a girl,” a husband allegedly assaulted his wife and threw her out of the house along with their newborn daughter. He also threatened her mother. Following a complaint lodged by the distressed woman, a case has been registered against the husband and his family members at the Cidco police station.

A case has been filed against seven individuals, including Vishal Sahebrao Suradkar and his father Sahebrao Anand Suradkar (residents of Chikhli). The 32-year-old complainant was married to Vishal in 2018. Within a few days of the marriage, her in-laws allegedly began harassing her for not bringing money from her parental home for house construction.

During this period, she became pregnant and later gave birth to a baby girl. However, the harassment reportedly intensified after the delivery, with the in-laws saying, “We wanted a son, but you gave birth to a girl.” A few days ago, she was allegedly beaten and thrown out of the house along with her infant daughter.

In an attempt to save her daughter’s marriage, the woman’s mother tried to mediate and counsel the husband and his family members. However, the accused allegedly assaulted her as well. A woman identified as Nalini reportedly abused and physically assaulted the complainant too.
