The Mahavikas Aghadi government robbed farmers and turned private insurance companies wealthy. Due to change in insurance norms, reduction in threshold production, only 15 lakh farmers out of 1.38 crore in the state became eligible for crop insurance during the last kharif season. With the government's blessings, insurance companies made a net profit of Rs 4,234 crore. There is a need to find out who is involved in this scam. He said that in the kharif season 2019, over 1.28 crore farmers had taken out crop insurance in the state. A total of Rs 4,788 crore was paid as insurance premium. Then 85 lakh farmers had received crop insurance worth Rs 5,795 crore and insurance companies were losing Rs 1,007 crore. However, the Shiv Sena had launched a protest against these companies. Now for Kharif 2020, the Uddhav Thackeray government has changed the criteria for the benefit of insurance companies. Insurance companies have joined hands with the agriculture department to pay compensation of Rs 974 crore to only 15 lakh farmers.
