Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A widow was allegedly stalked and threatened with forced marriage. A case was registered at Pundliknagar Police Station against a suspect who also allegedly pelted stones at her house.

The incident occurred at around 2 am on February 28. The accused has been identified as Vijay Bhausaheb Birare ( Trimurti Chowk).

According to the complaint made by the victim, she has been living with her young daughter at her mother’s home in the Pundliknagar area for the past two years. Her husband passed away three years ago.

The victim, her mother, and her brother were asleep at home at around 2 am on February 28,

when someone threw small stones through the window. One of the stones struck a cupboard and then hit the victim and her young daughter, causing minor injuries.

The family woke up and discovered that a mobile phone that had been kept on charge near the window was missing. Suspicion has been expressed that Vijay Birare was responsible for both the stone-pelting and the mobile phone theft.

The suspect had allegedly been threatening the victim over the past few days, telling her to marry him or he would abduct her. He had also reportedly threatened to kill her brother. Due to these threats, the family had been living in fear. Constable Keshav Kasare is on the case.
