Aurangabad, Dec 5:

Satara police have registered a case against a man for allegedly raping his brother’s wife six months ago. A case was also registered against the woman''s husband and mother-in-law for trying to shield the suspect.

The complainant woman was married to an engineer living in Satara area a year ago. A few days after marriage, the woman''s brother in law started touching her with bad intentions. On June 2, while her husband went for a walk in the morning, the accused entered her room and tried to rape her. Somehow she escaped and informed her mother-in-law. Instead of confronting the accused, she locked the victim and the accused in a room. The accused then raped her and threatened to defame her if she informed anyone about the incident. After she told her husband, he threatened to divorce her and assaulted her. As the victim was five months pregnant during the incident, she did not tell anyone. Meanwhile, the victim gave birth to a child and informed her mother about the atrocities. Her mother reassured her and took her to Satara police station on Friday. A case was filed against the brother in law, husband and mother-in-law. Sub-inspector Anita Fasate is investigating the case.
