Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A case of assault on a young woman under the pretext of marriage came to light at Kasliwal Garden in Cidco N-6.
The Cidco police have registered a case against Pradeep Harishchandra Naikwadi ( Naikwadi Vasti, Vashi, Dharashiv district) in connection with the incident.
According to police, the complainant works in a government job, while the accused used to conduct share market classes. She had enrolled in his share market classes in 2023, where they first got acquainted. Over time, their friendship developed into a romantic relationship.
The accused lured her with the promise of marriage and gradually grew closer to her. During this period, he took her to a room in Cidco and, claiming they would get married, forcibly established physical relations with her. He also took a sum of money from her during this time. A few days later, he shut down his classes and left for his village.
When the victim asked him about the money, he abused her verbally and threatened to kill her. The victim then filed a complaint at the Cidco Police Station. A case was registered and PSI Nanekar is conducting the investigation.
