Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

A woman who warned passengers about bus thefts allegedly stole a co-passenger’s gold mangalsutra and Rs 3,000 in cash at the Cidco bus stand on February 4 afternoon.

Kaushalya Pralhad Pitambare of Bhokardan was travelling on a Beed–Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar bus from Shahagad around 3 pm when a woman seated beside her advised her to remove the gold chain and keep it in her purse due to frequent thefts. After following the advice, Pitambare found that a small pouch containing a 100-bead gold mangalsutra and Rs 3,000 was missing when the bus reached Cidco around 5.30 pm. Pitambare has expressed strong suspicion that the same woman committed the theft. The MIDC Cidco police are investigating.
