Aurangabad, June 16:

A woman was tortured by her husband and in-laws physically and mentally, and later she was given divorce by uttering talaq three times. A case has been registered at the Jinsi police station against four persons, including her husband. The incidents occurred between the period December 12, 2018, and April 18, 2021. The accused included Abdul Karam Khan Abdul Shakur Khan, Abdul Shakur Wahed Khan, Abdul Rahim Abdul Shakur Khan, and a woman (all residents of Shamraonagar, Sangli). Police said the victim’s parents live in the Jinsi area. She was tortured mentally and physically by her husband and in-laws and always demanded money and jewellery from her parents. As they could not suffice the demands, accused Abdul Karim Khan divorced her by saying talaq thrice. A case has been registered at the Jinsi police station in this regard.
