Four theft incidents in 24 hours have been reported in the city, with gold ornaments weighing around 7.2 tolas stolen from women in crowded places.

At Jabinda Maidan, Sunita Songire lost a 2 tola necklace and Shobha Adekker’s 14 grams mangalsutra was stolen during a discourse programme; both cases are registered at Satara police station. Adv Aarti Ralegankar reported theft of her 12 grams mangalsutra during a rickshaw ride from Cidco to Paithan Gate. Ramdas Tayde from Ahilyanagar lost gold bangles and a necklace worth 19 grams during a bus journey, while Nazia Khan from Asifia Colony lost 7 grams gold earrings and Rs 900 cash in Lota Karanja area. Police have launched investigations, with suspicion of organised theft groups involved.
