Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

There is a severe water shortage in several localities of the city, and common citizens are at their wit's end over the water issue. On Friday, women from six localities near Shahnoormiyan Dargah marched directly to the office of the Municipal Commissioner, G Sreekanth. They complained that in the last 90 days, water supply had occurred only 12 times, and many had not received water due to low water pressure.

Localities such as Deshpande Puram, Prabhatnagar, Sheetalnagar, Mayurban Colony, Krushinagar, and Gadiya Vihar Road are not receiving any water supply. Despite paying the water tax regularly, residents are not getting water. On the days water is supposed to come, it doesn’t, and people are told that technical issues are the reason, with promises that water will arrive the next day or the day after. When water does come, the pressure is so low that many citizens don’t get any water at all.

In the past three months, water has been supplied only 12 times, and in March, it was supplied only three times. The Prabhatnagar area didn’t receive a single drop of water. Residents of this area have to rely on private tankers. The petition submitted by the women requests the administration to pay attention and ensure regular water supply in these areas. The memorandum was signed by Anil Mule, Neelima Deshpande, and Sheetal Rudrawar.
