A 19-year-old labourer lost two fingers after his hand got trapped in a press machine at a company in the Kamgar Chowk area. MIDC Waluj Police have registered a case against the company owner and the contractor.

According to the complaint, Shivam Srichandra (19), a labourer, reported for duty on January 30 at around 8 am. Despite having no prior experience in operating a press machine, the company supervisor assigned him the task of removing jobs from the machine. He was allegedly not provided with essential safety gear such as hand gloves or protective equipment. During the process, his right hand got caught in the machine. In the accident, two fingers of his right hand were severely injured and rendered permanently disabled, while his little finger also sustained injuries. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered against company owner Gunjal and contractor Aditya Nikam.
