Aurangabad, April 16:

Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray has announced financial help for construction workers, rickshaw drivers and hawkers. However, three days have passed since the announcement, but no progress has been made as the administration is awaiting written orders.

All India Trade union Congress (AITUC) affiliated street vendors, rickshaw drivers and domestic workers unions in a statement made to the district collector urged CM Thackeray to immediately implement the announcements. The union also made an online statement on the CM portal. Abhay Taksal said, that the break the chain order, signed by principal secretary Sitaram Kunte, does not even mention the financial assistance announced by the CM. The government must immediately provide financial assistance of Rs 10,000 per month to the licensed and batch holder autorickshaw drivers and instruct RTO and the police not to impose any penalty on the autorickshaw drivers during this period. The demand has also been made by the Lal Bawta Rickshaw Chalak Kamgar union to increase the amount from Rs 1,500 to Rs 5,000 and allow three passengers to travel in the rickshaw.
